SBA slates Small Business Boost
Arkansas Small Business Boost: Navigating Success in the South and Delta will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 29 at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Business Support Incubator, 615 S. Main St. Admission is free, according to a news release.
The Small Business Administration and the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce will travel throughout southern Arkansas and the Delta hosting events in support of the 2024 Small Business Administration Roadshow.

Small Works to open in West Memphis

The Arkansas Arts Council’s annual touring visual arts exhibition, Small Works on Paper, will open Nov. 6 at Arkansas State University Mid-South in the Reynolds Center in West Memphis.
Work by local artists in the exhibition include Matthew Howard, Pine Bluff; Crystal Jennings, Rison; Kimiara Johnson, Pine Bluff; and Alexia Lams, Pine Bluff.
The artwork will be on view Nov. 6-25. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The exhibition spotlights Arkansas artists who are members of the Arkansas Artist Registry, an online gallery maintained by the Arkansas Arts Council. The 2024 tour features 39 artists from across Arkansas and will make stops at nine venues statewide. Most works will be available for sale, with all proceeds benefiting the artists, according to a news release.
Six artists’ works were selected as purchase awards and will become part of the Small Works on Paper permanent collection. The artists receive cash awards that are equivalent to the value of their artwork. Artwork by the following artists was selected: Ryan Howard of Little Rock, Milan Jilka of Springdale, Alexia Lams of Pine Bluff; Madeline McMahan of Paragould, Vianny Nolasco of Rogers, and Sondra Strong of Bryant.
