Virtual political forum set
The Pine Bluff Chapter, Little Rock Chapter, and the Northwest Arkansas Chapter of The Links Inc. are partnering to host a political action forum at 7 p.m. March 12 via Zoom.
The event will be moderated by former gubernatorial candidate Chris Jones and includes panelists Joyce Elliott of Get Loud Arkansas, state Sen. Reginald Murdock (District 9), state Rep. Kenneth Ferguson (District 64), and state Rep. Jay Richardson (District 49).
Terri Hollingsworth, Pulaski Circuit and County Clerk, will also present information on voting requirements.
The purpose is to educate the statewide virtual audience on political issues, inspire voter registration and engagement and answer questions about the political process.

Chamber seeks Expo Award nominations
The Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 2024 Business Person of the Year and Non-Profit of the Year awards.
The awards will be announced during the Business Expo Breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m. May 2 at Pine Bluff Convention Center. All nomination forms are due by March 22 at 5 p.m., according to a news release.

PBSD stakeholders to meet
The Pine Bluff School District Unified Stakeholders will meet at 6 p.m. March 14 at The Generator, 435 Main St.
“This community-based organization is committed to supporting the school district in deeds and actions as identified by the district and stakeholder boards. Any district resident is welcomed to attend under the leadership of Ms. Wilma Kindle, president,” according to a news release.
Transportation, trails forms available
Applications for the Arkansas Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) and the Arkansas Recreational Trails Program (RTP) are available, according to the Arkansas Highway Commission. Virtual seminars will occur on March 14 and April 2 to inform potential eligible applicants of TAP and RTP requirements and responsibilities.
Project applications and registration are available at ardot.gov/TAP or ardot.gov/RTP. Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. May 31. Also, applications may be submitted year-round for Motorized RTP projects. Details: ardot.gov/RTP.
Area Agency announces menu
Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas is serving lunches from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays at the senior centers. Here’s next week’s menu:

UCA announces fall 2023 graduates
The University of Central Arkansas conferred nearly 500 undergraduate and more than 180 graduate degrees and certificates in December. Several southeast Arkansas residents were included, according to a news release.
