100 Families Alliance sets meeting

The community is invited to attend the Jefferson County 100 Families Alliance Meeting at 11:30 a.m. Monday at The Generator, 435 S. Main St.

A new initiative, 100 Families, is being launched in Jefferson County. To help people learn more about how to work together, this community impact meeting has been scheduled.

Paul Chapman, executive director of Restore Hope Arkansas, will discuss “The Power of Collective Impact.”

Pine Bluff Police Chief Denise Richardson will be the special guest, according to StuffinTheBluff.com.

Restore Hope Arkansas helps individuals and organizations from the private, public and social sectors to work together toward building a better state, according to its website. The nonprofit organization provides a platform for people to work together to solve some of the most complex issues in the state.

The mission of Restore Hope Arkansas is to reduce incarceration and the need for foster care through a community-driven approach, according to the the website.

LaTisha D. Brunson was recently named as the coordinator for 100 Families, an initiative that helps families move from crisis to career, using existing community resources.

“It’s an exciting time to learn more about 100 Families and get your organization involved in being a resource for those who need it in our community,” said Brunson.

ARTx3 updates several June events

The ARTx3 Campus has made updates to some of its offerings for June.

ART ROCKS: Summer Kickoff — The ARTx3 Campus is kicking off the summer season with free activities for all ages. ART ROCKS: Summer Kickoff is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8 in the ART Yard at The ARTSpace on Main, 623 S. Main St. Visitors can create mood paintings, sing and dance to karaoke music, and enjoy complimentary popsicles and drinks, according to a news release.

YOGA IN THE LOFT: Couples Yoga — Yoga in the Loft will be held from 3-4:30 p.m. June 15 in the Loft Gallery at The ARTSpace on Main. Bring a partner or close friend for a special couples edition of Yoga in the Loft. Learn collaborative yoga poses with certified yoga instructor Florence “FloEssence” Love. Yoga is held on the third Saturday of each month.

This class is designed for partners seeking to deepen their connection through yoga. Experience the joy of synchronized breath, gentle stretches, and partner poses that promote trust, communication, and mutual support. Attendees must be 21 or older, and wine and light refreshments will be served. It is sponsored by Angela White Smith, Realtor — eXp Realty. WH student on Missouri Dean’s List

Avery Moore of White Hall is among students on the spring Dean’s List for 2024 at State Technical College of Missouri at Linn. To be placed on the Dean’s List, a full-time student must earn a semester grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0 on a 4-point scale, according to a news release.
