Election panel to meet
The Jefferson County Board of Election Commissioners will hold a called meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the election commission office, 123 S. Main St., according to Chairman Michael Adam.
The agenda includes public comments (two minutes per speaker) regarding new business including appointing election officials for the March 5 Primary, School, and Non Partisan Elections.
Old business includes election commission funds status and plumbing issues at the election office status, according to a news release.
Urban Renewal Agency board to meet

The Pine Bluff Urban Renewal Agency will hold a special called board meeting at noon Monday at the Urban Renewal office, 417 W. Sixth Ave., according to a news release.

Raven’s Nest pantry to open Feb. 10
Raven’s Nest Food Pantry at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Hill St., will open Feb. 10 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. or until all the food has been given away. Food will be given away on a first come, first-served basis. Participants must bring a picture identification. The pantry is a U.S. Department of Agriculture site, according to a news release.
Women’s Connection sets luncheon
The Christian Women’s Connection invites the community to its luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
The speaker will be Mary Alice Estes of Bella Vista. Her topic will be “The Path of Faith and Trust.” A presentation will also be made by Laura Golden of Carpe Diem fashions of White Hall, according to a news release.
The luncheon cost is $21, which includes the meal, drink, dessert, tax, and gratuity. For reservations or cancellations, call Jennifer Keahey at (870) 540-9302. All reservations must be made three days in advance. Participants will be charged for reservations that aren’t kept.
GOP meeting to host Thurston
The Jefferson County Republican Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 22 at Larry’s Pizza in White Hall. The guest speaker will be Arkansas Secretary of State John Thurston, candidate for state treasurer, according to a news release.

Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas is serving lunches from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays at the senior centers. Here’s next week’s menu:
