Steve Clark Memorial Blues Jam set

Port City Blues Society will host the first Steve Clark Blues Jam in memory and celebration of a kind friend and faithful member. The live blues jam will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at RJ’s Grill and Bar, 128 S. Main St. The doors will open at 7 p.m. Numerous blues musicians will participate. The event is free and open to the public, according to a news release.

Attendees may contribute to a youth music lesson scholarship fund in Clark’s name through a guitar auction and T-shirt sales. The scholarship is in partnership with Music Warehouse Inc.

“Steve Clark was a successful property developer/consultant and was passionate about his work,” according to the release. “Founder of S.E. Clark and Associates, Steve maintained offices in Peoria, Ill., and Little Rock, Ark. Steve enjoyed live music and was a regular at Port City Blues Society blues jams and concerts. He would often schedule his business trips from Peoria to Little Rock so that he would not miss the weekly blues jam on Wednesday nights in Pine Bluff. He had a deep love of the blues genre and was a big fan of the music of B.B. King.” Details: pc-blues.com or facebook.com/PCBluesSociety.
