United Way needs volunteers

The United Way Southeast Arkansas is seeking volunteers for two sessions from 8:30 a.m. to noon May 6-7.

On May 6, United Way Impact Team Volunteers will be asked to visit service sites to learn about the daily operations at those agencies. On May 7, the volunteers will review the budget to evaluate program success and impact.

Local volunteers are crucial to the impact team. By participating, volunteers help determine how essential funding is allocated to support the community’s most vulnerable populations — the elderly, youth, food-insecure households and more, according to a news release.

“Your involvement ensures continued assistance for vital services such as mental health support, therapy for abused children, and literacy programs,” according to the release.
