The Pine Bluff Community Band will present a “Toe-Tap’in” concert 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at The Pines Mall cafe court.
The concert is free and open to the public.
“The program will be loaded with what we call ‘toe-tappers.’” said Jerry Williams, Community Band director. “If you like songs such as the ’50s favorite, ‘Rock Around The Clock,’ you are going to enjoy this concert.”
The program will include Big Band favorites “Tuxedo Junction,” “String Of Pearls” and “In The Miller Mood Medley,” which features popular tunes by Big Band composer and trombonist Glenn Miller.
The more contemporary segment of the concert will highlight the medlies “Legends Of Rock” and “Selections from Chicago.”
Selections from Duke Ellington’s music will include “Take The “A” Train,” “Mood Indigo,” “Caravan” and “It Don’t Mean A Thing.”
“We want to encourage families to come out to the mall and join us in cafe court for this concert,” said Lewis Hinkle, band president. “Plan to shop that morning and then be ready to do a little ‘toe-tap’in’ at noon.”
