Vanderbilt on Saturday became the first team to hang 100 points on the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in men’s basketball this season.
Six Commodores scored in double figures during a 104-75 win over UAPB at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tenn. It was the fourth time this season the Lions (0-5) lost by 20 or more points.
Vanderbilt (4-0) scored 100 or more points for the third time this season.
UAPB trailed only 43-31 at halftime, but Vanderbilt’s defense limited the Lions’ shot selection throughout the game. The Lions made 23 of 57 (40.4%) from the floor, although they were 10 for 24 (41.7%) from 3-point range and made 19 of 26 free throws (73.1%).
Trevon Payton shot 7 for 11 from the floor and led the Lions with 22 points. Quion Williams added 20 points, going 8 for 10 in free throws.

The Commodores took more shots from the floor (34 for 71, 47.9%) and the line (25 for 33, 75.8%) and exploded for 61 second-half points. Vandy outrebounded UAPB 49-28, controlling the offensive glass with 19 rebounds compared to UAPB’s 8.
Duke Miles scored 20 points and made 6 assists to lead Vandy. Devin McGlockton scored 17 points, shooting 8 of 10 from the floor, and totaled 9 rebounds; A.K. Okereke had 15 points and 6 rebounds; Tyler Harris scored 13 points; Tyler Tanner scored 12 points; and Tyler Nickel had 11 points to lead the Commodores.
UAPB will resume action Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
