The Arkansas State Highway Commission approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Chicot County, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation.
The purpose is to resurface eight miles of State Highway 59 and State Highway 8 between the Louisiana State line and Eudora.
APAC-Mississippi Inc. of Jackson, Miss., was awarded the contract at $3,182,072, according to the news release.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2018.
