The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to roadways in Desha County, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT.)
The purpose of this project is to overlay 1.2 miles of various city streets in Mitchellville to include Ringo Street, McCarrell Street, Kelley Street, Vine Street, Grant Street, Bell Drive, Goodlow Street, E. Powell Street and E. Portis Street.
Work also includes 1.4 miles of various city streets in Watson to include Front Street, Main Street, Dumas Street, Washington Street, Jefferson Street, Pindall Street, Clay Street, Commercial Street and Peterson Street.
Crow Group Inc. of Morrilton was awarded the contract at $463,350.04.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2020. Travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com.
