Commission announces loan for water treatment plant at Redfield

The city of Redfield has been approved for loan of about $2.6 million for a new water treatment plant, officials said Wednesday.

The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission announced approval of the loan from the Arkansas Water, Waste Disposal and Pollution Abatement Facilities General Obligation Bond Program, according to David Feilke, commission chairman.

“These funds will be used to construct a new water treatment plant, upgrade some of the distribution system and develop a new water well,” said Mark Bennett, ANRC Water Development Division manager.

The loan terms and interest rate are to be set by the executive director with a repayment schedule of up to 30 years.
