Lynda Toler and Linda Works presented the program, “Old Fashioned Cooking with a Modern Twist” at the recent meeting of the Heart-N-Hands Extension Homemakers Club.

The meeting and Thanksgiving meal were held at the Pursuit Church in White Hall, according to a news release.

Works opened the program by explaining how an air fryer works and its benefits over other cooking methods.

Jody Stout, club president, welcomed everyone to the meeting including guests: Dale Payton, Lori Rosetti, Terri Penna, and Diana Baker. Delores Kelley thanked everyone for bringing contributions for the Backpack Project at Pursuit Church.

Nancy Rosen, special community project chairman, thanked everyone for bringing donations for the Hope of the Delta. She said that the club was well represented at the Hope of the Delta’s fund-raising banquet.

Stout discussed several upcoming events including two projects on Thursday: the Heart-N-Hands EHC meeting and Christmas Party, and the Festival of Stars and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Blanket Drive.

The club voted to donate money for the Pursuit Church Angel Tree.

Two door prizes were given. Sandy Smith won a door prize for discovering the most words in the saying,”Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.” Dale Payton won a door prize for guessing the number of acorns in a jar.

After a Thanksgiving Potluck, Brenda Robinson taught a reindeer craft. Also, the club welcomed Lori Rosetti, Terri Penna, and Diana Baker as new members.
