Clinic to offer vets legal services, meal

Veterans Day will be celebrated nationally on Wednesday. The office of Mayor Shirley Washington announced that the city will recognize its veterans at the Veterans Legal Clinic from 9-11 a.m. Thursday.

The clinic is held at First Assembly Church Life Center West Campus, 3206 S. Hazel St., according to a news release.

“Tyson’s Cook Team will prepare a wonderful meal for them,” according to the release. “This will be a free carry-out lunch. First-come, first served.”

In addition to the meal, veterans will have the opportunity to speak with a representative or lawyer about pension/benefit questions and common legal issues.

Walk-ins are welcome to attend the legal clinic. A mask or face covering will be required. Temperatures will be taken and social-distancing guidelines will be followed.

The Center for Arkansas Legal Services, the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs and the Little Rock VA Medical Center’s Justice Outreach Program will have representatives available.
