Clarification

An article in the Sunday, Nov. 13, edition of The Commercial titled “Majority of Jefferson County schools fail to meet federal testing standards” used unclear language to introduce a list of schools in Southeast Arkansas. The list was of schools that either failed to meet adequate yearly progress in 2011 or are on the state’s school improvement list. Although a school may have met AYP in 2011, it remains on the state’s school improvement list until it has met AYP for two years in a row.
