City to give out bottled water today

The city of Pine Bluff will give away cases of bottled water at 4 p.m. today at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. Residents must stay in their vehicles and drive through the designated area. The drive-thru is a precaution against covid-19, according to a news release.

The event is in response to the water challenges facing the community.

The city is grateful to Aramark for its support in providing bottled water. Volunteers are needed to assist with the distribution. For details on how to volunteer for this distribution or similar events in the future, people may email William Fells at wfells@cityofpinebluff-ar.gov.

State park facilities set regular hours

Because of the health emergency brought on by covid-19, many facilities at Arkansas state parks have had reduced hours and limited occupancy for the past year. Beginning today, park visitor centers and museums will again have regular hours for visitors, according to a news release.

Visitor centers will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Park museums will be open Wednesdays to Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.

Visitor centers and museums act as information hubs in the parks. Visitors will find exhibits explaining the flora, fauna, geography, and history of the parks in these buildings. Details: ArkansasStateParks.com.
