NEW JERUSALEM MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1317 S. Texas St., will celebrate its annual Women’s Day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker is LaTonyalyn White. The theme is “Christian Women Continuing a Journey Encompassing Past Struggles, Triumphs, and On-going Challenges” (Proverbs 31:20-21.) AMOS CHAPEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1307 W. 16th Ave., will celebrate the 43rd anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Robert and Stephanie Willis. A fellowship outing will be held 4-6 p.m. Sept. 14 at Thunder Lanes bowling alley. The anniversary celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 15. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Clarence Holman, pastor of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, along with his congregation. Other guests will include the Rev. Leon Hicks of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church of Deberry, Texas, and the Rev. Stanley Blair of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Moscow. The bishop, Hank Wilkins IV, will give a special tribute to the honorees. Dinner will be provided by Rice Catering from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
PLEASANT VIEW MINISTRIES CHURCH, 1117 N. Palm St., will celebrate the 38th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. William A. Shaw Jr. at 11 a.m. Sept. 22. This service will include special guests, tributes and music.
NEW FAITH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 3800 Fir St., will host its 2024 Choir Anniversary Musical Workshop under the direction of Shelvie “Buck” Henry, a musician, singer, teacher and composer. Singers, directors and musicians are invited to participate. Sessions will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 and Sept. 13 and 10 a.m. Sept. 14. The Anniversary Choir Concert will be 3 p.m. Sept. 15.
