AMOS CHAPEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1307 W. 16th Ave., will celebrate the 43rd anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Robert and Stephanie Willis, at 1 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Clarence Holman, pastor of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, along with his congregation. Other guests will include the Rev. Leon Hicks of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church of Deberry, Texas, and the Rev. Stanley Blair of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Moscow. The bishop, Hank Wilkins IV, will give a special tribute to the honorees. Dinner will be provided by Rice Catering from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

HAPPY HOME BAPTIST CHURCH at Jefferson will celebrate its Inspirational Choir’s anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Robert Staten of the Jerusalem #3 Faith Family & Friends Church. The worship leader will be Ebony Allen, a minister and member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church. Happy Home’s pastor is the Rev. Thomas Rowland.

FIRST MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 4500 Faucett Road, will observe Women’s Day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Diamond Compton of First Missionary church.

NEW HOPE CME CHURCH, 901 E. 21st Ave., will host the City Wide Mission meeting Monday at 1 p.m. The special guest speaker will be Robbie Williams of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Derrick Wilbert is the pastor at New Hope.

PLEASANT VIEW MINISTRIES CHURCH, 1117 N. Palm St., will celebrate the 38th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. William A. Shaw Jr. at 11 a.m. Sept. 22. This service will include special guests, tributes and music.

BETHLEHEM WORSHIP CENTER CHURCH in Dumas invites the community to attend the 2024 Men’s Conference at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 22. The theme is Men Who Conquer (Romans 8:37). The speaker will be the Rev. Kourtney R. Smith, pastor of Destiny Worship Center of Pine Bluff. Bethlehem’s pastor is Timothy Jones.

NEW FAITH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 3800 Fir St., will host its 2024 Choir Anniversary Musical Workshop under the direction of Shelvie “Buck” Henry, a musician, singer, teacher and composer. Singers, directors and musicians are invited to participate. Rehearsals will continue at 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Saturday. The concert will be 3 p.m. Sunday. OLD SAINT JAMES MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 4512 S. Ohio St., will host its 10th annual Women’s Conference beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 28. The doors open at 8 a.m. The presenters will include opening speaker Latonya Scott and closing speaker Danita Waller Paige. Teachers and topics will be Cynthia Bullard, “Woman in the Mirror”; Cynthia Howard, “Do you like what you see?” and Janice Lockett, “Stay focused.” Registration is $40 until Sunday and $45 after Sunday. Registration includes a conference bag, T-shirt, continental breakfast, goodies, lunch, and special souvenir. WORD OF FAITH FULL GOSPEL BAPTIST CHURCH, 1108 S. Poplar St., invites the community to its Family and Friends Day on Sept. 29. Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m. and worship service is at 10:45 a.m. The speaker will be the pastor, Henry Land Jr. Also, Word of Faith invites the community to its Kingdom Conference at 7 p.m. Oct. 9-11. The lecturer will be the pastor and the keynote speaker will be William J. Strong Sr., bishop of Greater New Bethel Church at Milwaukee, Wis.

GRACE EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 4101 S. Hazel St., will host a celebration event for the Blessing of the Animals Sunday service at 2 p.m. Oct. 6 on the front lawn. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside Milwee Hall behind the church. The church welcomes any owner and animal, according to a news release. Pets should be on leashes or in carriers during the event. There will be refreshments for adults, children, and pets.
