MUSICAL ARTISTS KEITH SAVAGE AND WILLIAM “BUBBA” SHAW III will be honored during a Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday. Pleasant View Ministries will hold the event at New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St. Musical guests include the Williams Singers, Voices of Deliverance, the Shaw Boys, Gekisha Shaw and the Pleasant View Reunion Mass Choir. The host will be Johnnie Walker, a minister, according to Stuff in The Bluff.com. Patrick Lockett is the apostle and senior pastor of New Community and William A. Shaw Jr. is pastor of Pleasant View.

NEW JERUSALEM MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1317 S. Texas St., will celebrate Men’s Day on Sunday. At 11 a.m., the speaker will be the Rev. Mark Stephens of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist of McGehee. At 2 p.m., the speaker will be the Rev. Clarence Holman of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Pine Bluff. Shelton Fitzpatrick of Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church of Pine Bluff will be the worship leader. Music will be by a male choir under the direction of Melvin Crockett. The Rev. Marc Kriston Wilson is the pastor of New Jerusalem.

THE CARNELL RUSS BRANCH of the NAACP will sponsor the 2024 annual Reclaim the Community Program at 3 p.m. Sunday at Westside Baptist Church of Star City. The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Alvin Newburn, according to a news release. Details: Leatrice Russ-Glenns at leatriceglenns@gmail.com.

NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH, 321 N. Birch St., will celebrate its 65th anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Esau Watson Jr., bishop of Judah Restoration Worship Center. New Community invites everyone to attend. The church also has prayer at noon on weekdays and children’s church at 11 a.m. Sundays and guests are welcome to attend. The pastor/apostle at New Community is Patrick Lockett.

MT. MORIAH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH of Gould will conduct spring revival at 7 p.m. March 19-21. The guest speaker for March 19 will be the Rev. Willie Gordon, pastor of the Revival Time Christian Church of Pine Bluff, accompanied by his congregation. March 20-21, the speaker will be the Rev. Walter Witherspoon, pastor of the True Harvest Missionary Baptist Church of Dumas, accompanied by his congregation. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Rev. Phillip Puckett is the pastor at Mt. Moriah.

STEWART MEMORIAL CME CHURCH, 911 S. Maple St., will host the Citywide Mission meeting at 1 p.m. March 18. The special guest speaker will be the Rev. Renice Davis, pastor of Bethany Capel Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Fred Williams is the pastor of Stewart Memorial.

THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS Annual Lenten Fish Fry is being held from 5-7 p.m. every Friday through March (except Good Friday, March 29) at St. Joseph Catholic Church, West Sixth Avenue and Laurel Street. People can eat in for the all-you-can-eat dinner or get carry out plates, according to a news release. Dinners for adults are $15 and children $8.

PLEASANT GROVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1801 Indiana St., will host a movie night and food giveaway. Today, from 5:30-8:30 p.m., the church will show “Overcomer,” a 2019 film. The event is free and the community is invited to attend. On March 30, Pleasant Grove will give away food to those in need from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The effort will be provided by the church’s soup kitchen and pantry, according to a news release.

RAVEN’S NEST FOOD PANTRY at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Hill St., will be open Saturday from 8-9:30 a.m. or until all the food has been given away. Food will be handed out on a first come, first-served basis. Participants must bring a picture identification. The site is a U.S. Department of Agriculture distribution site and an equal opportunity provider, according to a news release.

PRAYER AND PIZZA for youth will be held from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1300 E. 26th Ave. The speaker will be Efrem Neely, a local lawyer, and the topic will be Make Every Day Count. The program is held at different churches once a month to pray for and encourage the youth. A young person from the local church introduces the speaker. Guest praise dancers will be Marie and the Girls. Pizza and beverages are served immediately after the session. The public is invited to attend. The Rev. S.J. Womack is pastor of Lampkin Chapel. Dee Clay is the project coordinator.
