NEW DERRISSAUX MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 418 W. 34th Ave., will celebrate the 36th anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Freddie and Kathy Webb, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Kevin Crumpton, pastor of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. The master of ceremonies will be the Rev. Amelio Howard, pastor of Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church.

BREATH OF LIFE CHURCH, 1313 S. Pine St., will observe its Youth Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Christopher Mack Jr., a life-long member of Highland Ministries and a probation officer with the Sixth Division Juvenile Court in Jefferson County. A husband and father, Mack has served in several capacities at Highland, including the worship leader and youth pastor. In May 2024, Mack was formally ordained into ministry, according to a news release. Breath of Life’s youth director is Jennifer Lee and the pastor is Kerry Price Sr.

FIRST MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 4500 Faucett Road, will observe its annual Ushers’ Brunch at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Clarence Thornton of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock.

KINGDOM BUILDERS OUTREACH CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST, 3105 S. Apple St., will present its annual Women’s Day at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The featured speaker will be Valerie C. Rasberry, an evangelist and member of Breath of Life Church. The colors are pink and white.

INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF PRAISE, 4511 Faucett Road, will continue its Praise, Worship & Fire Youth Fest beginning at 7 p.m. today. On Saturday, the dance workshop, flag and liturgical session will begin at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at 1 p.m. and worship at 3 p.m., according to a flier. Participants will include New Bethel Praise Dance Team, Dedra Henderson & Anointed Vessels of Praise Dance Ministry, Kingdom Warriors Praise Dance Ministry, as well as IHOP Lil’ Angels, TNT, and Lakeem Douglas.

BARRAQUE STREET MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1800 Pullen St., will host Bishop Henry “Hank” Wilkins IV as the guest preacher during the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. Wilkins invites the community to attend, according to Stuff in The Bluff.com.

NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH, 321 N. Birch St., will host its Kingdom Builders program at 6 p.m. Sunday. The featured speaker will be Lynda King, a member of New Community.

KINGS HIGHWAY MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 2312 Fluker Ave., will celebrate its 104th Anniversary at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Donnell McTyer of Kings Highway will deliver the message. The theme will be “104 years of being faithful to the mission and committed to the call.” (Matt. 28:19-20.) Everyone is invited to attend.

ST. JOHN AME CHURCH, 1117 W. Pullen St., will present its annual Men’s Day Worship and Praise Services weekend. Saturday from 8-10 a.m. the men will host their annual prayer breakfast. On Sunday, Men’s Day will begin at 9:45 a.m. worship featuring Xavier Wynn as the speaker followed by Church School at noon. At 3 p.m. Sunday, the guest speaker will be the Rev. Roderick Dwayne Belin, president and publisher of the AME Sunday School Union.

KINGS HIGHWAY MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 2312 Fluker St., will hold its pastoral installation for the Rev. Donnell McTyer at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 31. The Rev. Phillip L. Pointer, pastor of St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, will be the featured speaker. The Rev. Orienthal J. Newburn Sr., pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Beloit, Wis., will be the guest speaker at the 10:45 a.m. worship service.

MT. MORIAH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH in Gould will celebrate its 109th Anniversary along with Friends and Family Day at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 7. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Donald Manning, pastor of Thomas Chapel Missionary Baptist Burch in Gould, along with his congregation. Everyone is welcome to attend this celebration. The Rev. Phillip Puckett is the pastor of Mt. Moriah.

NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH, 321 N. Birch St., will also observe the 22nd Anniversary of the pastor/apostle and wife, Patrick and Janice Lockett, at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 14. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Lee Whitiker, pastor of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church.

OLD ST. JAMES MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 4512 S. Ohio St., will present Grammy Award nominated Gospel singer Vickie Winans as the special guest artist during the Women’s Conference on Sept. 27. Registration starts at 8 a.m. The conference begins at 9 a.m. with opening speaker Latonya Scott of Old St. James followed by three classes taught by Bishop Shirley Sanders, Yolanda Campbell and Cassandra Shaw. The registration is $65 and includes the program, a bag, continental breakfast, a souvenir, lunch and conference T-shirt.
