Child struck by vehicle south of Pine Bluff

A child was hit by a vehicle at about 8:45 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 79 near the Pinewood subdivision south of Pine Bluff.

No further details were immediately available. Officials on duty with Metropolitan Communications Association confirmed that there was a report a child had been struck.

Officials with the Arkansas State Police were still working the accident at press time and could not be reached for comment. More details will be provided when they become available.
