A child was injured Tuesday afternoon when he ran out in front of a vehicle in the 800 block of South Linden Street.
Police Lt. David Price said the child, who appeared to be about 6 years old, attempted to cross the street from west to east and was hit by an SUV that was southbound on Linden Street at 3:50 p.m.
Price said the child received a possible leg injury as a result of the accident.
The name of the child was not released. The name of the driver of the vehicle was not immediately available and Price said the accident is still under investigation. No charges were anticipated against the driver because the child ran into the street from the middle of the block, he said.
