‘Child Find Awareness Month’ targets preschoolers

The Arkansas Department of Education has desginated August as “Child Find Awareness Month” to help prepare youngsters for preschool.

According to a press release from the Arkansas River Education Service Cooperative, the preschool program provides educational evaluation, individualized instruction, speech/language and physical/occupational therapies. The Early Childhood Program provides these services to children ages three to five who have been identified with a disability.

“We want all children to be ready for school,” according to a press release. “If you suspect your child to have a learning disability, please contact the Arkansas River Education Service Cooperative Early Childhood Coordinator Wendy James at 870-730-2962.”
