Child Care Aware of West Central Arkansas will host an open house for the new satellite site at Southeast Arkansas College at Pine Bluff.
The event will be from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, in the Workforce Development Center on the west side of SEARK. Brief remarks will begin at 2:15 p.m.
“This child care resource and referral office will provide resources and professional development for licensed/registered child care providers and referrals to families seeking child care. Staff will be actively involved in the community and advocating for quality care for children,” a spokesman said in a news release.
Child Care Aware of West Central Arkansas is a grant program administered by National Park College at Hot Springs. The program recently expanded the service area to include Dallas, Grant and Jefferson counties. The new location was created through a grant from the Department of Human Services Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education.
“SEARK has welcomed us to their campus providing an excellent space for training, a teacher workroom and office space for staff enabling us to provide services locally for providers and families,” said Terri Helms, Child Care Aware director.
