Child advocates

Willing Workers of White Hall Extension Homemakers Club recently visited the Children’s Advocacy Center at Pine Bluff. Participants included Helen Barajas (left) child advocate at the center; Jo Ann Carr, Willing Workers community service chairman; Sarah Payton, Willing Workers president; Karen Needler, Willing Workers vice president; and Alexia Harris, family advocate. The club chose the center as its main community service project for the year. Members donated blankets and snacks in October and Carr, Payton and Needler delivered the items and toured the facility. Members were asked to help with children’s Christmas presents, to help wrap presents Dec. 5, and continue donating blankets and snacks, according to a spokesman. (Special to The Commercial)
