Formal charges have been filed against a Pine Bluff woman in connection with a two-vehicle traffic accident on Dollarway Road in November that resulted in the death of a White Hall man.
Prosecuting Attorney S. Kyle Hunter charged Lashun Chidester, 41, with negligent homicide, first-offense DWI and driving left of center.
According to the police report, Chidester was driving a 2002 GMC north on Dollarway Road on Nov. 23*** when the car collided with a 2004 Pontaic driven by Jason Rouse, 28, of Pine Bluff, at the intersection of Dollarway Road and Norman Street. Rouse was westbound on Norman Street.
A passenger in Rouse’s vehicle, Ricky Brooks Jr., 24, was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Rouse, Chidester and another passenger in Rouse’s car,*** Janeka Stacker, 18, also of Pine Bluff, were all injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Traffic Officer Derrell Ray reported that the accident happened at 1:50 a.m., it was raining, and the roadway was wet.
Bond for Chidester was set at $100,000.
The death raises the 2012 homicide total in Jefferson County to 19, with 18 of them occurring inside the Pine Bluff city limits.
