Hunter Manes won the fishing derby Aug. 22 at Cane Creek State Park at Star City. With a total 6.3 pounds, he averaged 2.1 pounds per catfish with the three-catfish limit.
With his camouflage spinning reel, Hunter moved between two spots that were within 25 feet of each other.
In second place, there was a tie. Mason Kidd and his little brother, Blake Kidd, caught 5 pounds each.
