Marpessa Beard and Vicky Inich were hostesses for the April meeting of Camden Road Homemakers Club at Whiteville Baptist Church.
Thirteen members were in attendance and were welcomed by President Jo Segars. The thought for the day was “Even a woodpecker owes his success to the fact that he uses his head.”
Nancy Sumner led the reading of the Homemakers Creed. The handy hint is “Eggs will beat up fluffier if they are at room Temperature.”
Wanda Felts gave the inspiration from I Timothy 4:5: “But you, keep your head in all situations.”
Roll call was answered with a favorite bird. The program was presented by Beard on learning and identifying local birds. Most birds mentioned were cardinals, humming birds and blue birds.
Beard gave each member a booklet, “ARKANSAS Backyard Birds,” and Sumner displayed a collection featuring local birds.
Several coming events were mentioned. The first birthday bash for this year will be held May 11 at the Wood Shed BBQ, U.S. 270, honoring Patsy Jones, Esta Kealer, Jo Segars, Wanda Strickland and Vicky Inich. May 2 is Extension Homemakers Spring Council meeting and Camden Road EHC will be in charge of registration.
