Camden Road Homemakers met at Whiteville Baptist Church with nine members. Two new visitors, Denise Henry and Ruth Fontenot, were in attendance. Sue Holford and Jo Segars were hostesses.
During the Oct 18 meeting, the program was on Crock Pot cooking. A variety of foods can be cooked in a slow cooker, including soups stews and casseroles. One in particular that most people like is Crock Pot dressing. Also, many people use liners, a spokeswoman said in a news release.
The group also discussed other events including, the fall council that was held Oct. 4 and Camden Road members were hostesses.
Camden Road members held a fellowship tour Oct. 17 to Hardin Farms for lunch and a tour of the show chickens. Mary Smith, Nancy Sumner and Vicky Inich attended.
Holiday Foods was held Oct. 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Marpessa Beard, Jo Segars, Dorothy Green and Mary Smith attending, among about 200 others.

Camden Road members will be helping clients at CASA Women’s Shelter with personal items and will collect coats for children in the Watson Chapel School District.
The Enchanted Land of Lights and Legends has opened and Friday, Nov. 18, Dorothy Green, Mary Smith, Vicky Inich and Nancy Sumner will be hostesses for those driving through to see the lights.
Jo Segars will do a tablescape for the the annual Christmas Luncheon and Festival of Tables, sponsored by the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, Dec. 2 at First United Methodist Church.
