Trinity Village holds flag event

Starting July 1, on a first-come first served basis, residential households can apply for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) through the network community-based action agencies that serve the county where they live. Fund drive for artwork set

PB foundation accepts grant applications
Nonprofits in Pine Bluff and Jefferson County can go to arcf.org/givingtree to apply for Giving Tree Grants through the Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation. Applications must be submitted online between July 10 and Aug. 15. Any IRS 501(c)(3) public charity, public school, government agency or hospital in Jefferson County is eligible to apply. Grants are not made to individuals or small businesses. Any nonprofit that received a grant in 2023 must complete and return the grant report form to be considered for this current grant cycle. Applications will be reviewed by a grant-making committee from PBACF. Other grants are available for organizations with programs educating, assessing and screening members of their organization or the larger community regarding health issues.

Blue & You offers mental health project grants
In an effort to improve access to quality care for Arkansans struggling with mental health challenges, the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas will award grants ranging from $5,000 to $200,000 to organizations seeking to fund behavioral health programs. The grant cycle opens July 1 and the foundation plans to fund $1 million in grants, according to a news release. To be considered for grant funding, applicants must submit a letter of intent to blueandyoufoundationarkansas.org between July 1-12. Applicants should be a 501(c)(3) charitable organization; a public school, college or university; or a city, county or state governmental agency. The city of Pine Bluff invites residents to use the free dump day to get rid of unwanted items Saturday. The dump day will be held from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hestand Stadium. Members may hang water-themed works along the East wing of the center through July. Art will be displayed through Aug. 31. The PBAL seeks to engage the public through selected themed exhibitions and invites the community to enjoy a diverse selection of art by southeast Arkansas artists.
