CADC announces extra food program for senior citizens

Central Arkansas Development Council is signing up people 60 years old or older for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.

The CSFP is a monthly distribution of non-perishable food items to seniors. The service is being expanded to include Dallas and Calhoun counties. Proof of income and a valid picture ID are required when signing up for CSFP. Persons on this program may also receive the quarterly commodities food program.

To be eligible to receive supplemental commodities, income guidelines must be met. The monthly income limit for this program is $1,276.

Applications will be accepted beginning Friday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. on a first come, first served basis at the CADC Hampton office; CADC Fordyce Office; or the First Baptist Church of Sparkman. Details: Evelyn Reed, 501-778-1133.
