A burn ban has been reinstated and will continue until further notice, Jefferson County Judge Dutch King announced Thursday.
Because of the extreme temperatures and lack of precipitation, dry conditions exist over all of Jefferson County, King said in his announcement. This increases the level of fire danger tremendously. It is with this in mind that a burn ban has been reinstated for all of Jefferson County, including the cities of Pine Bluff, White Hall, Humphrey, Sherrill, Altheimer, Wabbaseka and Redfield.
There is also a burn ban in effect for Lincoln County, according to the Arkansas Forestry Commission website.
