The Arkansas Bureau of Legislative Research will hold meetings on the Joint Committee on Public Retirement and Social Security Programs Monday and Tuesday at Monticello. The meetings are open to the public.
Monday at 4:30 p.m., a meeting will be held at the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s fine arts center. Briefings will be presented by George Hopkins, executive director, Arkansas Teacher Retirement System; David Clark, executive director, Arkansas Local Police and Fire Retirement System; Larry Dickerson, executive secretary, Arkansas State Highway Employees Retirement System; Jason Lee, executive director, Arkansas Diamond Deferred Compensation Plan; Gail Stone, executive director, Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System, Arkansas State Police Retirement System and Arkansas Judicial Retirement System.
Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., a meeting will be held at Hampton Inn at Monticello. The agenda includes consideration of adopting an interim study proposal requesting the interim joint committee study the effect of automatically enrolling new state employees in a deferred compensation plan subject to certain opt-out provisions.
