University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff sophomore Danika Bryant has been named Southwestern Athletic Conference co-pitcher of the week, the SWAC announced Monday.
Bryant, of Chandler, Ariz., threw a perfect game with 11 strikeouts against Oklahoma Panhandle State University on Friday in the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic. It was the second perfect game in UAPB history.
She threw 20 strikeouts and notched two wins in the two-day tournament. Her pitching helped UAPB become the top program in the conference for pitching ERA (2.57).
UAPB will host Saint Francis University of Pennsylvania at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
