The White Hall School Board was scheduled to approve a transfer of surplus operating funds to the district’s building fund Tuesday evening, in addition to accepting a number of bids for services during the 2012-13 school year.
Because of the positive operating fund balance, Superintendent Dr. Larry Smith recommended the board authorize the transfer of an amount not to exceed $345,000. He said that will keep the fund balance at about 11 percent, the samae range maintained for five years.
The board also authorized the expenditure of $100 for each state championship ring awarded to student athletes from net gate receipts from athletic activities.
The White Hall High School girl’s softball team captured the 5A state championship and the WHHS boy’s baseball team won the 5A state championship.
The remaining cost of the individual awards will be paid through fund raising efforts, donations or paid by the individual student athlete, the board was told.
