SEARCY — After limiting Harding to just 10 points in the first half, the Arkansas-Monticello men’s basketball team was outscored 44-27 in the second half to suffer a 57-50 loss to the Bisons on Saturday night inside Rhodes Field House.
UAM (9-6, 4-5 Great American Conference) held Harding (14-3, 7-2) to just five field goals in the first 20 minutes, but the Bisons responded with a 13-of-17 performance in the second half.
UAM led as much as 15 points in the first half, but lost its double-digit lead 5 minutes into the second half when the Bisons posted an 8-2 run to pull within six points at the 14:40 mark.
The Bisons forced the first tie of the game and took their first lead on a pair of free throws from Zach Roddenberry with 2:58 remaining. Weston Jameson followed those free throws with a jumper to give Harding a three-point lead with 1:58 remaining.
UAM senior Kori Forge and junior Dayton Mickens tied for the team lead in points with 11. Roddenberry led Harding with 22 points.

WOMEN
Harding 77, UAM 59
SEARCY — Harding used a strong second-half effort to defeat the UAM women’s basketball team 77-59 on Saturday inside the Rhodes Field House.
The Cotton Blossoms (2-12, 0-9 Great American Conference) never led, but held the Lady Bisons (11-4, 7-2 GAC) to no more than a seven-point lead until the final 4 minutes of the opening period.
Freshman Jordan Goforth led the Cotton Blossoms with 18 points on a 6-of-14 shooting performance, including a 5-of-8 outing on three-pointers. She also had a team-high nine rebounds.
Junior Ashley Qualls also reached double-digits with 10 points.
The Cotton Blossoms will host Southern Arkansas Thursday at Steelman Fieldhouse beginning at 5:30 p.m.
