A Go Red for Women heart disease special program will be held at Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1923 S. Olive St., at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14.
Go Red For Women is a promotion of the American Heart Association. Ten years ago, officials discovered that heart disease killed more women than men and killed more women than all forms of cancer, a spokesman said. The heart association began Go Red For Women, a network of women dedicated to education, support, and research.
During the event, information will be provided to help women understand the importance of taking care of their health to prevent health disease. The Pine Bluff branch of the National Association of University Women will be special guests and the pastor, the Rev. Renice L. Davis, will be the speaker. The public is invited to attend.
