The 2014 Bash on Barraque community festival will be held at the Pine Bluff Convention Center from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11. The location was changed because of possible rain.
The public is invited to attend the free festival and the first 100 children will receive prizes.
Chaired by Darryl Taylor, the event will include contests for trophies in a 3-on-3 basketball competition, battle of drum lines and battle of Greek organization steppers.
Bash on Barraque will also include a climbing wall, pedal cars, bounce houses, a tinkering project by the Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas and carnival style games for children. There will also be popcorn and other treats, craft vendors and local information booths.
The event will end with the “Sweet Sounds of Downtown” at the convention center helping to provide “Music on Main” beginning at 5 p.m. with the Greek Step show.
Relyance Bank is the title sponsor of “Bash on Barraque,” a project of the Old Towne Committee under the direction of Pine Bluff Downtown Development, whose mission is the reinventing and revitalization of downtown Pine Bluff.
