This weekend in Pine Bluff, the community is invited to come out and enjoy an array of events including Sissy’s Log Cabin Smoke on the Water barbecue championship and live entertainment as well as the Tour de Bluff bicycle events.
Sissy’s Log Cabin Smoke on the Water Championship, presented by Saracen Casino, returns to Pine Bluff Regional Park. The Smoke on the Water barbecue competition is offering $50,000 to find out who’s the best.
The Grand Champion will receive a $15,000 cash prize and a championship ring custom-crafted exclusively for Smoke on the Water by the master jewelers at Sissy’s Log Cabin. The winner will also be eligible for the Jack Daniel’s World’s Championship draw.
Prizes will be given through 15 places in four categories; brisket, chicken, pork butt and ribs. There will also be payouts for the top five prizes overall, from $1,000 for fifth place to $15,000 for the Grand Champion.
This evening will mark the start of competitive barbecue smoking among the cook teams, some guided by celebrity pitmasters with worldwide fan bases, as well as up-and-comers hoping to beat the best, according to the news release.

Saturday, the gates open at noon. From 1-3 p.m., there will be public sampling of barbecue and voting.
Other attractions include the Pet Adoption Event, Jefferson Regional Men’s Health Fair, Jefferson Regional TV Game Zone, Craft Bazaar, Free Kids’ Fun Zone and On-site Food Trucks.
Back by popular demand, the People’s Choice sampling contest will provide members of the barbecue-loving public with a chance to taste-test and vote on world-class barbecue samples.
Live entertainment will be offered on the park stage. Performers will include the Addyson Kennedy Band, the Jon Bailey & Heathen Revival and the Tina Cossey Band.

Also on the weekend, Tour de Bluff will be held today and Saturday. Tour de Bluff is an annual bicycle-themed event, created for people of all ages to learn fun, safe ways to enjoy bicycling. The event is produced and managed by Novel T’s and made possible through partnerships and sponsorship funding.
Tour de Bluff 2024 serves as a means to engage the Central Arkansas community with its enjoyable routes and activities. Tour de Bluff’s new cutting-edge asphalt and gravel course promises thrills to riders of all ages and abilities as it takes participants on a scenic tour of the Pine Bluff Railroad Museum.
