Pine Bluff Arsenal’s Recreation Services will sponsor a “Biggest Loser” Weight Loss Challenge Jan. 8 through March 30. The program is open to the public.
“This program is designed to promote, encourage and motivate individuals towards a healthier, more positive lifestyle,” according to a news release.
Information will be provided on fitness activities, good nutrition, fitness education and motivation.
Participants must be registered. After registration is complete, each participant will have a card that will be issued and must be kept throughout the challenge. Once a week, weigh-ins and body fat percentage measurements will be taken. These will be strictly confidential. Weigh-ins will be done from 6 to 9 a.m., and 1 to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Participants will be required to workout at least four times a week for 30 minutes or for 45 minutes three times a week. To receive credit for each workout, participants must have Kathy Berry, fitness instructor, or a member of the recreation services staff sign the participant card. Participants will meet with Berry once a week to go over any concerns or questions about the program.
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
At the end of the program, the total amount of weight (pounds and body fat percentage and inches) lost per participant will be calculated for a final score.
Registration is currently open. The cost is $100 per participant and everyone must have a Family Morale, Welfare and Recreation card to participate.
