Arkansas WWI Centennial events include local sites

The Arkansas World War I Centennial Commemoration Committee has sanctioned several events in May, including two in the Pine Bluff area.

Many of the Arkansas events also mark Arkansas Heritage Month, which this year has the theme “A State of War: Arkansas Remembers World War I.”

WWI Centennial Commemoration events during May include:

• “Our Railroad Men in World War I” will be displayed at the Arkansas Railroad Museum, 1700 Port Road, in Pine Bluff, May 1-31; Details: 870-535-8819 or info@arkansasrailroadmuseum.org .

• “World War I in Jefferson County,” a “Last Man Club” exhibit with items from WWI veterans, will be at the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Historical Museum, Fourth Avenue and State Street, in Pine Bluff May 1-31; Details: 870-541-5402 or suetrulelock@sbcglobal.net .
