Arkansas Post National Memorial will host a Family Fun Day: Civil War Kids on Saturday.
Children will be able to learn about Civil War history through educational hands-on activities. The tentative activity schedule is:
• 9-10 a.m. — Battlefield walk/letters home;
• 10-11 a.m. — Soldier uniforms/musket demonstration;
• 11-11:30 a.m. — Battle of Arkansas Post slide show/Civil War in 3D;
• 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Civil War games.
Children attending must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors attending may want to pack a lunch or snack. Comfortable shoes, sunscreen and bug spray are recommended. Participants are asked to RSVP by calling the park at (870) 548-2207.
