Arkansas Hospice celebrates 25th anniversary

Arkansas Hospice, which has two locations in Southeast Arkansas, celebrated its 25th anniversary Tuesday, Jan. 17. The agency is the state’s largest hospice organization, according to a press release.

Locations include Arkansas Hospice Monticello and Arkansas Hospice Pine Bluff (located at White Hall.)

The community-based, nonprofit organization has grown from one location to eight offices and three inpatient centers that serve more than 500 patients each day throughout a 33-county service area, the release said.

“The early success of Arkansas Hospice can be attributed to our visionary founders, Dee Brazil-Dale and the late Michael V. Aureli,” Judith Wooten, president and chief executive officer, said. “We have continued to thrive because of our wonderful employees, whose dedication and compassion set the standard for hospice care throughout the state. This year is not only a celebration of our history, but also a time to look to the future, as we continue to develop new and better ways to serve Arkansans facing serious illness and loss.”

“As a nonprofit organization, Arkansas Hospice has a special commitment to patients and families in rural areas of the state, minorities, and other underserved populations, providing the same high-quality care to all, regardless of ability to pay,” the release said.
