The state’s largest annual botanical show, the 2017 Arkansas Flower and Garden Show, will open its doors to flower and garden lovers from across the Mid-south, a spokesman said.
The show opens at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 24, and continues through 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Statehouse Convention Center at Little Rock, according to a news release from the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
Tickets are $10 for one day and $15 for a three day pass, according to www.ArGardenShow.org
The theme will be “Local Roots,” and will feature various speakers, vendors and experts. The Arkansas Flower and Garden Show is a non-profit organization. Its mission is to promote gardening and beautification in Arkansas, promote local horticultural businesses, and educate the public about gardening, landscaping and floral design, the release said.
Proceeds support college scholarships in horticulture-related fields in Arkansas and fund “The Greening of Arkansas” program, which provides community beautification grants to communities throughout Arkansas. Since 2006, the show has given $70,000 in scholarships and more than $75,000 in grants, the release said.
