LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Arts Center announces a call for entries for the 55th Annual Delta Exhibition.
The 55th Annual Delta Exhibition is open to all artists who live in or were born in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. Artists can submit up to three entries. A non-refundable entry fee of $20 for one entry and $10 for additional entries is required. All work must be original and completed within the last two years. Artists can view guidelines and enter online at www.arkarts.com. The deadline to submit all entries is Oct. 30.
The exhibition will be on view at the Arkansas Arts Center Jan. 18-March 10, 2013.
Monica Bowman will serve as juror for the 55th Annual Delta Exhibition. Bowman is the owner of The Butcher’s Daughter Contemporary Art Gallery in Detroit. Since 2008, she has curated more than 20 exhibitions in Detroit and New York. Her gallery regularly participates in the PULSE contemporary art fairs. The gallery has been featured in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and W Magazine. Bowman teaches business practices for fine artists at Detroit’s College for Creative Studies. She earned her master of arts in museum studies from Georgetown University and has a specialization in contemporary art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York.

The Arkansas Arts Center features a museum with an outstanding collection of international art. The strength of the collection is works on paper with an emphasis on drawings and contemporary craft objects. It also includes paintings, sculpture and the largest U.S. repository of watercolors and drawings by 19th century artist Paul Signac. The AAC also features the award-winning Children’s Theatre, art classes and public programs. In addition, the AAC offers touring programs for communities, such as Children’s Theatre on Tour, the Artmobile and traveling exhibitions.
The Arkansas Arts Center is located 9th and Commerce at Little Rock. Admission is free. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, and closed on Monday and major holidays.
