Area students earn roles in ‘Little Women’ at SAU

Southeast Arkansas students earned roles in the production of “Little Women,” the musical, at Southern Arkansas University at Magnolia beginning Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Three area students will participate in the performance. Amber Gantt, a freshman musical theatre major from DeWitt, will play the role of Jo March. Eboni Edwards, a senior theatre major from Pine Bluff, is an assistant choreographer. Shatabia Jordan, sophomore theatre major from Dumas, is the run crew.

The shows will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Nov. 20-23, and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 23-24, at Harton Theatre at SAU, according to a news release.

“‘Little Women’ embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter and tears,” according to the release.”The powerful score by Alan Knee soars with the sounds of a young America finding its voice.”

General admission tickets are $17; $12 for SAU faculty, staff and senior citizens; and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door, online or by calling 870-235-4255.
