Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Economic Opportunities Commission will begin accepting applications for the crisis portion of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Tuesday. The crisis portion helps people in extreme situations such if they have as shut-off notices.
Applications will be taken at the following:
• Jefferson County — Pine Bluff EOC office, 817 S. Cherry St., on a first come, first served basis Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. In Jefferson County, EOC will be able to interview approximately 75 applicants a day. Other counties will interview 25 daily. Details: Call 870-536-0046 in Pine Bluff and 1-800-277-1313 for Grant, Cleveland, Lincoln, and Arkansas counties.
• Grant County — EOC Sheridan Office, 815 E. Center.
• Cleveland County — EOC Rison Office, 203 Main.

To qualify for crisis LIHEAP, applicants must have a disconnect notice with a disconnect date within 7 days of application date. Applicants must also meet income guidelines. For a household of 1, the monthly income limit is $1,481.
To apply for assistance, applicants will need to visit their an EOC office for an interview. The applicant should bring a copy of the current utility bill, Social Security numbers, and proof-of- income and dates of birth for all household members. Additional information may be required.
