An amateur photography contest will be held at Guachoya Cultural Art Center in Lake Village in August and the theme is Horses.
Entries must be at least eight-by-10 inches, taken in the past year and not previously displayed at Guachoya. Photographs must be framed, ready to hang with wire hangers. Entry forms and payment must be submitted by Wednesday, July 15. Photographs are due by Friday, July 31.
Entries are limited to three per person at a charge of $5 for each photograph. Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded in each of three divisions: K-sixth grades, seven-12th grades and adults. Professional photographers are welcome to display, but their photographs will not be judged.
A reception will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Aug. 6. The public is invited to attend. The event is free. Details: Vera Pesaresi at 870-265-6077.
