The Blues By Budweiser concert series will feature the Amanda Fish Band at 8 p.m. Aug. 3 at RJ’s Grill & Bar, 128 S. Main St.

The doors will open at 7 p.m. Port City Blues Society members are admitted free. Admission is $5 for others. The concert series is sponsored by MK Distributors.

“A perfect storm of blues, roots, rock and soul, Amanda Fish began as a singer songwriter in late 2012, refining her original material as a solo act for 2 years before she formed her band in early 2014, a project featuring Amanda’s signature ‘from-the-gut’ vocals,” according to a news release.

Fish is known as a multi-talented musician.

“The Kansas City-based artist is a formidable singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist (bass, piano, guitar and mandolin), all of which have made her a force of nature, worthy of respect and recognition,” according to the release.

In 2015, she released her first all-original LP, “Down In The Dirt,” on VizzTone Label Group, for which she earned the 2016 “Sean Costello Rising Star” Blues Blast Music Award.

Fish became a semifinalist in the 2017 International Blues Challenge where she garnered acclaim from new fans and industry professionals. From her performance at the IBC, she started touring the U.S. and Canada. She and her band have played at numerous blues festivals and events.

In 2018, Fish released her second all original studio album, “Free,” on VizzTone Label Group, debuting at No. 6 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart and getting a 2019 Blues Music Award for Best Emerging Artist Album.

During the 2020 covid pandemic, Fish released an album of home recorded demos of her newly written music, named “Trailer Park Demos,” which she sold exclusively through her website as a limited release.

The artist recently announced her long awaited third studio record, “Kingdom,” which is scheduled to be released on VizzTone Label Group on Friday.

Port City Blues Society, which promotes the concert series, is an affiliated member of The Blues Foundation, which seeks to preserve and promote blues music, the culture of Delta blues and educate the public about the history of the blues in the region.

Port City hosts a free weekly blues jam from 8-11 p.m. Wednesdays at RJ’s Grill & Bar, where area musicians converge to play live blues. Details: pc-blues.com or facebook.com/PCBluesSociety.
