Pine Bluff City Council Ward 2 Alderman Charles S. Boyd Sr. has announced that he will not seek re-election to a fourth term.
“I want to thank the fine citizens of Pine Bluff, especially those of the 2nd Ward, for allowing me to serve as your alderman,” Boyd said in a press release. “I am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to serve. I have tried to represent the city of Pine Bluff to the best of my ability; however, I believe it is time for me to re-focus my attention on my ministry and family. I wish the mayor and the council well and I pray for unity and wisdom as they work toward moving the great city of Pine Bluff forward.”
The filing period will now be from noon Monday, Nov. 2, to noon Monday, Nov. 9, at the Jefferson County Courthouse for candidates seeking election in the March 1 Democratic and Republican primaries.
