Rhonda Stewart will present “Ancestral Activity: Doing African-American Genealogy in Arkansas and Chicot County” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at Lake Village.
Held at Lakeport Plantation, an Arkansas State University Heritage Site, Stewart will speak at Lakeport Legacies, a monthly history talk.
Stewart is a genealogy and history specialist at the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, a department of the Central Arkansas Library System in Little Rock.
Stewart will discuss how to research African-American family history in Arkansas, the importance of oral history and the vast amount of information available in genealogical databases on the Internet.
